Arkansas Game & Fish Commission | 2020-2022
Schelly Corry is the director of Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s new Ozark Highlands Nature Center. Before joining AGFC Schelly was vice president of the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, where she worked directly with Nasa Marshall Space Flight Center, United States Army at Redstone Arsenal, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and many local partners. Schelly’s career began over 25 years ago, and includes work in the natural sciences, environmental education and conservation, live animal care and display, science museum exhibit design, interpretation and installation.
She earned a Bachelor of Art and Science in Biology and Education from Dallas Baptist University, a Graduate Certificate in Free-Choice Learning (Museum Studies) from Oregon State University, and two Montessori teaching degrees in early childhood and elementary education. She has many professional certifications and is a member of the National Association of Interpretation. As a leader, Schelly believes you can have fun and work hard at the same time. She is a “glass half-full” kinda gal.
In her free time, Schelly enjoys spending time with her family, going on outdoor adventures, caving, kayaking, hiking, gardening, ethnobotany, plant foraging, reading and painting watercolors. She is a lifelong learner and loves to develop new skills and gain new experiences. Schelly has been married for 24 years to Brian Corry, a talented artist and sculptor. Her most important role is setting an example for and inspiring her three daughters to follow their dreams with courage and determination.
