Join AEEA for a virtual presentation and Q&A on nonprofits and advocacy.
In the spring of this year, AEEA hosted three community calls. These virtual meetings were a time for members and partners to share resources and support each other during a time of uncertainty. After a short break, we are restarting with a topic that has come up multiple times: nonprofits and advocacy. If nonprofit employees want to advocate for environmental and outdoor education, what actions can they take and still maintain their 501(c)3 status?
Stephen Vallus, EA, of Smith and Taylor Tax will provide an overview on
- The difference between advocacy and lobbying
- Actions nonprofits can take part in
- Common areas of concern
