Brent Walker is an Inspector Supervisor in the Office of Water Quality within the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (formerly ADEQ), where he has over 16 years of experience inspecting permitted facilities, investigating citizen complaints, responding to environmental emergencies, and representing the Department at numerous local, state, and federal levels, including planning regional EPA workshops and annual presentations at AWW&WEA. Brent has trained and mentored numerous DEQ inspectors throughout his career and is an advocate of lifelong learning, believing that you should learn something new every day. Brent has a Master of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Aquatic Environmental Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Arkansas State University and serves as adjunct faculty in the Science Department at Arkansas State University – Newport.

As a Northeast Arkansas native, Brent enjoys fishing, boating, and exploring Arkansas lakes and streams. Brent is also a Licensed Cycling Instructor with the League of American Bicyclists and serves as President of the board of the Northeast Arkansas Bicycle Coalition, a 501c3 nonprofit that advocates for better conditions for cyclists in NE Arkansas and promotes the use of bicycles for transportation and recreation. Brent and his wife, Betsy, live in Jonesboro; where they love to conduct backyard science experiments with their neighborhood children such as making snow, observing critters in their environment, and launching homemade air-propelled rockets.
