Enjoying and learning about nature at night
AEEA is a supporting partner of the annual Arkansas Dark-Sky Festival, an event focused on enjoying and learning about nature at night and how to protect this critical but threatened natural heritage resource. Registration is now open for this unique event.
You can register for the festival on the festival website. https://darkskyarkansas.org/2024-darkskyfestival/
When you visit the site, check out the Event Guide, the Star Party Program outline, the Milky Way Photo Workshop, the Scout program, and the Celestial Scavenger Hunt. You should review the Event Guide before registering, especially if you have not attended the event before or are planning to camp onsite, which can be reserved during registration.
You will also find links on the festival website to help you find places to stay, eat, and other area activities. Limits have been set for attendance and on-site camping. Once filled, registration and camping will be closed. So, while you should not wait until the last minute to sign up, please don’t register unless you have decided to attend, as it may preclude someone else from participating.
On the website you will also see information about volunteering. It takes many people to make this event a success.
