Heather Pitman spent 18 years of her career as a public school teacher. During this time, Heather was always the one other teachers called for when they needed science, particularly , life science, lesson ideas. She was the one to call to catch a snake, rescue a bird, or provide information on trees at the playground. After her time as a teacher, Heather chose to switch gears and is currently Facility Manager for the Crooked Creek Nature Center in Yellville. It is here that she is able to continue to share her love of all things natural with a variety of schools, teachers, and the public through field trips, professional development and classes open to the public.
