Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool | 2023-2025

Monica began ropes course leading in college, which led to backcountry guiding for 2 companies over several years. She has been in education as a classroom teacher, homeshool teacher, tutor under a Title I grant, and taught Pre-K-5th and high school ESL during her teaching career. Monica started Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool almost 5 years ago, which continues to grow and she continues to find new ways to educate parents and the wider community about the importance and value of outdoor education. She is an avid outdoorsperson, spending most of her personal time hiking, backpacking, climbing and gardening, among several other outdoor interests. Monica has been either guiding, teaching, or both, in some capacity, for more than 25 years.
