Join us for a fun, interactive and educational professional development workshop, focused on how and where forest and water ecosystems interact with each other. This will be a combined Project Learning Tree and Project WET workshop for both formal and non-formal educators interested in learning hands-on activities to use with a variety of ages. ONSC will be hosting this workshop at the Lake Fayetteville location, where Ozark forests grow right up next to a small lake, right in the middle of urban Northwest Arkansas.

The workshop focuses on activities for grades 3rd-6th. However activities are easily adjustable, and educators of other ages are welcome to attend. Participants will receive Project Learning Tree’s Explore Your Environment (K-8th grade) and Project WET’s Foundations of Water Literacy (K-12th grade) activity guides. The guidebooks are high-quality instructional materials containing dozens of hands-on activities correlated to state and national education frameworks.

Project Learning Tree
Helps students learn about our natural and created environment, and understand their roles and responsibilities within it. PLT teaches about trees, forests, wildlife, water, recycling, climate science, and green careers.

Project WET
Inspires students to respect our precious water resources and to understand the importance of sound water management. Activities focus on the biological, chemical and physical aspects of water.

*This workshop qualifies for six hours of ADE-approved professional development.

Participants should bring a water bottle and packed lunch.
