Event Details
Join us for this fun, interactive and educational professional development focusing on our natural
resources and the environment.
Participants will receive PLT’s K-8 Activity Guide: Explore Your Environment which includes 50 hands-on activities to connect children to nature and increase their awareness and knowledge about our natural world. Perfect for Earth Day programs—activities in this guide focus on trees, forests, wildlife,
water, energy, climate change, community planning, invasive species, and so much more. Teachers and non-formal educators can easily integrate these activities into their classrooms and educational
programs.
Although the activities are organized by grade bands (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8); these activities can easily be adapted to older grade levels as well. All activities are aligned with national standards for science,
English language arts, math, and social studies; and correlated to the 4-H Life Skills, and Boy and Girl
Scouts badges. Many activities include STEM learning as well as meaningful ways to take student learning outside. This multidisciplinary curriculum develops students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
This workshop qualifies for three hours of ADE-approved professional development.
To register: email name and phone number to rbeadel@arkforest.org. Please include the workshop location and date.
